Events for 2019
 

To Enter a VCV Event:

1. You must have a current AVCC licence.

2. A non-flashing tail light must be securely fitted to the bike, visible from a minimum of 100 meters.

3. All riders MUST have competed in at least 3 VCV affiliated club races with the club you have joined before entering an Open event so your club handicapper can submit a mark to the State handicapper.

Entries and Licence
To compete in any VCV event, you must have an Australian Veteran Cycling Council (AVCC) licence (see the Membership Page). Entries to Opens and Championship events are done online prior to the day. No late entries will be accepted. No exceptions! Postal entries are no longer accepted.

Scratching Policy
Riders wishing to scratch from VCV Open Events can do so until midnight of the day entries close, no later. Entry fees will be refunded less a $5 administration fee. To scratch from an event contact us via email.

Bill Long Camperdown to Warrnambool 74km Open Handicap
Saturday 16th February 2019 - This is an Aggregate points race
Host Club - VCV run event - Sponsored by Patron Ray King
10am start. Registrations at the Commercial Hotel, Leura St, Camperdown
New Route. Exciting new run in: via Allansford and Hopkins Point Road to the finish line on Raglan Parade under the Melbourne to Warrnambool banner.

VCV State Criterium Championships
Sunday 24th February 2019 - 2 Aggregate Points
Host Club - Northern Cycling
Held from National Boulevard, Campbellfield, Victoria (behind Ford). Attendees will be directed to the car parking area.
Gradings and Placings.
All races will be held as graded events - Grades A to F. Gradings are done by the State Handicapper under guidance from Club Handicappers.
Men and women will race together but be awarded separate placings, ie first 3 men in each grade will receive medallions and the first 3 women in the same grade will receive medallions as well.
Intermediate Sprint - each grade will have an intermediate sprint, with a medallion for the first man and first woman in each grade.
NOTE - Revised Start Times
10.00am - Grades E, F and C 11.00am - Grades D and B
12 noon - A Grade  
Race Time/Distances  
A grade 60 minutes plus 2 laps B grade 50 minutes plus 2 laps
C grade 45 minutes plus 2 laps D grade 40 minutes plus 2 laps
E grade 35 minutes plus 2 laps F grade 30 minutes plus 2 laps
Presentations - at the conclusion of each event.
Catering - Coffee, drinks and other food (no meals) will be available at the Cafe, and a free barbeque will be provided.

Saturday 23rd March 2019 - This is an Aggregate points race
Host Club - Eastern Cycling Club
To be held at 1.30pm. Registrations opposite the Royal Hotel (put 26 Emily St in your GPS) round the corner in Manners St, Seymour. NOTE - Race briefing and start are 6km from the registration point, and are 3.5km along Seymour - Avenel Road. See map below. Allow enough time to get to the start.

Highland Society Criterium - Sunday 21st April
Start from Burns Street, Maryborough - from 9am.

First event starts at 9am. Held around a circuit on Burns Street/Lake Road/Christian Street. View Map

Time Trials - Monday 22nd April
Start on Timor Road, Maryborough - from 9am.
All age groups compete on a 25km out and back course. The start is from the Gun Club on Timor Road. Younger men start first then older men followed by younger women to older women, at one minute intervals. View Map.

Mockridge Cup. Riders times are compared to Age Standards and the rider with the best time relative to their age is the winner of the Mockridge Cup.
 
Entries and Presentations
Entries close Tuesday 9th April at midnight. Transponder hire is a once only $5 for the whole weekend. Presentations for Saturday and Sunday's events will be held in the evening at our major sponsor, the Maryborough Highland Society, 35 High Street, Maryborough. Monday's Time Trial presentations will take place soon after events on the day.

To qualify as a trial rider you should not have raced with the Vets within the last 5 years, and are eligible for 2 trial rides with the same club within a calendar month without taking out membership. You will be required to fill out a form on the day to cover insurance, and are not eligible for placings until you take out membership. Trial Rides are free. You will be contacted beforehand by the handicapper to discuss an appropriate mark for the race.

VCV State Time Trial Championships
Sunday 8th September 2019 - Two Aggregate points.
Hosted by Veteran Cycling Victoria
Raced in 5 year age groups - separate men and women's.
Start from 10am. Registrations at Balliang Community Hall, Bacchus Marsh/Balliang Road, Balliang
Presentations and refreshments afterwards.
Course. Three laps of a flat 10km course. 70 years and over do two laps.

Hosted by Eureka on behalf of Veteran Cycling Victoria
Registrations at the Eureka Clubrooms, Foreshore Road, Learmonth
To be held as graded races. Men and women race separately.
Women. Start time 10:55am. All women's events will start at the same time, and all women will do the same 45km circuit. Number of divisions depends on entries.
Men. Men's events will start in 3 waves. Divisions A to F
